Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information PlanSage, LLC ("PlanSage," "we," "us," or "our") collects when you use the PlanSage website, applications and services (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. PlanSage is a business tool for licensed insurance agents and agencies. This Policy covers our users and website visitors. It does not cover Medicare beneficiaries, because the Service is designed not to collect their personal information.
1. Information we collect
Account information
Your name, email address, agency name, licensing information you provide, the states you select, your plan and seat details, and your sign-in information. If you set a password, it is stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider.
Billing information
Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We keep the information Stripe returns to us to manage your subscription, such as a customer ID, subscription status, plan and billing dates.
Usage information
- Activity in the Service, such as comparisons run, the state, county and priorities selected, the plans shown, Detailed Analysis requests and their counts, and timestamps. We use counts to apply plan limits.
- Account events, such as agents added, frozen, deactivated or reactivated, and subscription changes, with the reason entered by the person who made the change.
- Standard technical information sent by your browser, such as IP address, browser type and device information, used for security and reliability.
Messages
Information you send us when you contact support.
2. Information we do not collect
The Service is designed to work without client personal information. We do not ask for or store your clients' names, contact details, Social Security numbers, Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers, or health information. Client details you type into the Cost Worksheet stay in your browser to produce the worksheet or PDF and are not saved by PlanSage. Please do not enter client personal information into any other part of the Service.
3. How we use information
- To provide, maintain and improve the Service, including running comparisons, generating Detailed Analysis, and applying the limits of your plan and the states you subscribe to.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions, trials and Founding offers.
- To verify licensing information and keep accounts secure, including preventing shared logins and abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, changes to the Service and support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Who can see your information
Your agency
If your seat belongs to an agency account, the agency's owner and designated administrators can see your name, email, status and agency-level usage information, such as which comparisons you ran, when, and for which state, county and priorities.
Service providers
We use service providers that process information on our behalf, only as needed to run the Service:
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Supabase: database, authentication and file storage.
- Vercel: website and application hosting.
- Resend: account and transactional email.
- Anthropic: generation of Detailed Analysis text. It receives plan information and the priorities selected, not client personal information.
- Google Fonts: our website and application load fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser information when a page loads.
Legal and business transfers
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety or property of PlanSage, our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this Policy continues to apply to the information transferred.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The application uses browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. Our marketing website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
6. Data retention
We keep account and usage information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days of your request, except billing, tax and audit records, which we keep for up to 7 years where needed to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations or to resolve disputes.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, hashed credentials and role-based access controls in our database. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can review and update account information in the Service. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop sending non-essential emails, by writing to support@plansageapp.com. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we will honor them as required. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may keep information we are legally required to retain.
9. Children
The Service is for licensed adult professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the Service before it takes effect. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
